Uttarakhand Police Divide Dehradun Into Security Zones for Eid Festival
Uttarakhand Police have intensified security measures across Dehradun ahead of Eid al-Adha, dividing the city into multiple security zones and deploying additional personnel at sensitive areas to ensure peaceful celebrations and maintain law and order.
Ahead of the Eid al-Adha festival, the Uttarakhand Police has implemented extensive security arrangements across Dehradun to ensure peaceful celebrations and maintain public order.
Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobhal stated that the city has been strategically divided into five zones, eleven sectors, and thirty-five sub-sectors from a security perspective. Senior police officials, including Deputy Superintendents of Police, Inspectors, Station House Officers, and Sub-Inspectors, have been assigned specific responsibilities for monitoring each area.
According to the police administration, additional security personnel have been deployed at sensitive locations and mixed-population areas to prevent any untoward incidents during the festival. Authorities have also instructed all police officers, including outpost in-charges and area officers, to remain on high alert and conduct continuous patrolling throughout the celebrations.
The police department has organised peace committee meetings across various police station jurisdictions involving representatives from different communities. During these meetings, officials appealed to citizens to celebrate Eid with harmony, mutual respect, and brotherhood.
Police teams have also inspected designated sacrifice sites and advised members of the Muslim community to perform animal sacrifices only at authorised locations. Authorities further instructed that Eid prayers should not be conducted on roads or public thoroughfares to avoid inconvenience and maintain smooth traffic movement.
The elaborate security plan reflects the administration’s focus on maintaining communal harmony and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere during one of the major religious festivals celebrated across the country.
