21 Killed in Firecracker Factory Blast in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar

At least 21 people were reported killed and six others seriously injured after a blast at a firecracker factory in V. Muthulingapuram in Virudhunagar district on Sunday afternoon.

Officials said the explosion occurred while labourers were shifting inflammable chemical materials inside the factory premises. Around 30 workers were present in four rooms of the unit when the blast took place.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment, while rescue teams continued operations at the site.

Droupadi Murmu, C. P. Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives. The leaders conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
