West Bengal Assembly Becomes Part of National e-Vidhan Platform
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the West Bengal Legislative Assembly have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA). With the inclusion of West Bengal, all state legislatures and Parliament are now connected through a common digital legislative platform.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) at Parliament House in New Delhi.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju described the integration of the West Bengal Assembly into the NeVA platform as a historic milestone. He said the development brings all state assemblies and the Parliament of India onto a single digital legislative platform.
Rijiju noted that the NeVA initiative has been launched to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “One Nation, One Application”, aimed at modernizing legislative functioning through digital technology.

The NeVA platform is designed to enable paperless legislative operations, improve efficiency in legislative business, enhance transparency, and provide lawmakers with digital access to documents, proceedings, notices, and other parliamentary resources.
Suvendu Adhikari joined the MoU signing ceremony through video conferencing and expressed support for the initiative. The event was also attended by Ministers of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal and L. Murugan.
The Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Rathindra Bose, was also present during the ceremony.
The NeVA project is a mission-mode initiative aimed at digitizing legislative processes across the country. The platform facilitates real-time access to legislative business, electronic document management, and digital communication between members and legislative secretariats.
Officials said the inclusion of West Bengal marks the completion of a major phase of the initiative, ensuring that all legislative bodies in the country are now part of a unified digital ecosystem.
The move is expected to strengthen transparency, reduce paper consumption, streamline legislative procedures, and enhance public access to legislative information.
