Soumendu Adhikari Visits Municipality After Complaints Against TMC Leadership
BJP MP says residents complained about administrative inaction and lack of attendance by municipal officials
Soumendu Adhikari on Monday visited the Kanthi Municipality following allegations of disruptions in civic services and administrative functioning in the area.
The visit came amid claims that the municipality’s Trinamool Congress-led chairman had stopped attending office after the recent election results, leading to complaints from local residents regarding delays in public services.
Speaking to reporters during the visit, Adhikari said he had come to ensure that civic amenities and essential public services were being delivered properly to the people.

According to the BJP MP, residents had repeatedly raised concerns over the alleged absence of the chairman and councillors from municipal duties for an extended period.
He stated that his objective was to ensure smooth functioning of the administration and uninterrupted delivery of services from the beginning of the day.
The issue has intensified political tensions in the region, with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the All India Trinamool Congress trading allegations over governance and civic administration.
Kanthi, located in Purba Medinipur district, is considered politically significant and has long been associated with the Adhikari family’s influence in West Bengal politics.
