The Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two men from Borivali railway station for allegedly being involved in a bomb-hurling incident outside an ashram in Murshidabad.
According to officials, the accused had allegedly fled West Bengal and travelled to Mumbai in an attempt to evade arrest.
The incident occurred on May 14 under the jurisdiction of the Berhampore Police Station in Murshidabad district.
Police said the case was registered after tensions reportedly escalated in the area following the declaration of the West Bengal election results.
The arrested accused have been identified as Roky Khan, a 24-year-old driver and resident of Kandi Hotel Para, and Sahadat Sarkar, a 35-year-old labourer from Gram Natun Pura.
