First Starbucks Reserve Store in Eastern India Opens in Kolkata
Tata Starbucks sees strong long-term growth opportunities in India’s coffee market and has launched its first Starbucks Reserve store in eastern India at Kolkata.
Tata Starbucks has expressed strong confidence in the long-term growth prospects of the Indian coffee market despite broader macroeconomic challenges.
The joint venture between Tata Consumer Products Ltd and Starbucks Corporation on Friday launched its first Starbucks Reserve store in eastern India and the fourth such outlet in the country at Kolkata.
Speaking on the expansion, Starbucks India Chief Operating Officer Adrit Mishra said the company remains highly optimistic about India’s potential as a growing coffee consumption market.

“We are very bullish. For us, India has been a great story so far,” Mishra said, highlighting the company’s expansion to over 500 stores across the country.
He noted that the company’s confidence is reflected not only in its growing market share but also in its investments in premium formats such as Starbucks Reserve stores.
Industry experts view India as a relatively underpenetrated coffee market with significant room for expansion, particularly among younger urban consumers and premium café audiences.
The launch of the Reserve store in Kolkata marks another step in Tata Starbucks’ strategy to strengthen its premium café experience and broaden its footprint in key metropolitan markets.
