Rainfall to Intensify on April 20 and 21 Across Parts of State
The India Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in parts of Maharashtra between April 19 and 22, signalling relief from the prevailing heatwave conditions.
According to the forecast, western Maharashtra, Khandesh, Marathwada, and parts of Vidarbha are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall, with isolated hailstorms and winds reaching speeds of 30 to 50 kmph.
Weather officials said rainfall activity may begin on April 19, intensify on April 20 and 21, and gradually weaken by April 22.

The agriculture department has advised farmers to take precautionary steps, including securing harvested crops and planning field activities according to the weather outlook to minimise potential losses.
