Heatwave Likely in Bihar, UP, Jharkhand and MP, Says IMD

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heat wave conditions over Gangetic West Bengal for today.

The weather department said heatwave conditions are also likely to prevail in Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh during the day.

According to the IMD, hot and humid weather is expected over Andhra Pradesh (coastal areas), Karnataka (coastal belt), Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Meanwhile, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha are expected to witness warm night conditions over the next two days.The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, parts of North East India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim today.

The weather agency further predicted thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms over Madhya Maharashtra and North Interior Karnataka.
