New Delhi: Actress and former All India Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan has received interim relief from a sessions court, which has stayed a magistrate court order directing the registration of a cheating case against her.

The lower court had earlier ordered an FIR following allegations that Nusrat Jahan accepted money from a Delhi-based company for producing her film Sentimental but did not return the amount.

The order had also named producer Debashish Das Gupta in the matter.

Challenging the magistrate court directive, both Nusrat Jahan and Debashish Das Gupta approached the sessions court.

On April 22, the sessions court stayed the lower court’s order. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for May 28.
