Congress Demands Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation
Party Demands Resignation of Education Minister Amid Paper Leak Controversy
Indian National Congress workers staged protests across Rajasthan on Wednesday over the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination, alleging that the suspected paper leak had jeopardised the future of lakhs of students.
Demonstrations were organised in several districts, including Sikar, Udaipur and Pali, where party workers raised slogans against the Centre and burnt effigies of Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protesters demanded Pradhan’s resignation and accused the government of failing to safeguard the integrity of one of India’s most important entrance examinations.
Congress leaders and workers also questioned the functioning of the National Testing Agency, which conducted the NEET-UG 2026 examination before it was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak and other irregularities.
The NEET controversy has triggered political reactions across the country, with opposition parties intensifying attacks on the Centre over repeated examination-related scandals and alleged administrative failures.
The cancellation of the examination has affected more than 22 lakh medical aspirants nationwide, leading to uncertainty regarding fresh examination schedules, counselling timelines, and admission procedures.
