Illegal Weapon Supply Racket Suspected Across MP and Rajasthan
Police in Neemuch have uncovered an illegal country-made pistol manufacturing unit operating near the Rajasthan border following the arrest of a man carrying a firearm. Authorities suspect that the locally manufactured weapons were being supplied across parts of Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring Rajasthan.
Police have exposed an illegal pistol manufacturing unit in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh, which shares a border with Rajasthan, following the arrest of a man allegedly carrying a country-made firearm.
According to officials, investigators suspect that the weapons produced at the illegal unit were being supplied to criminal networks operating in Madhya Pradesh as well as neighbouring Rajasthan.
Acting on a tip-off, police from Manasa arrested Durga Shankar Sutar, a resident of Antarimata village. During the operation, officers recovered a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from his possession.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh Vyas informed reporters on Thursday that the arrest led investigators to uncover the illegal arms manufacturing setup. Police are now probing the scale of operations, possible buyers, and the wider network involved in the manufacturing and distribution of illegal firearms.
Authorities are also examining whether the weapons were linked to criminal activities in the region. Further investigation is underway to identify other individuals associated with the illegal arms operation.
