Haryana Sets Honey Production Target of 15,500 MT by 2030
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the state government is aiming to raise honey production to 15,500 metric tonnes by the year 2030 under its beekeeping policy. The initiative is expected to strengthen rural livelihoods, promote sustainable agriculture, and support the growing apiculture sector in the state.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday stated that the state government is working towards increasing honey production to 15,500 metric tonnes by 2030 as part of its dedicated beekeeping policy.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing beekeepers during a programme organised by the Haryana Horticulture Department in Panchkula on the occasion of World Bee Day.
During the event, Nayab Singh Saini also visited exhibition stalls featuring honey and various honey-based products displayed by beekeepers from different parts of the state. The programme highlighted the importance of beekeeping in boosting farmers’ income, enhancing crop pollination, and encouraging environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.
The Haryana government has been focusing on expanding apiculture activities by encouraging farmers and rural entrepreneurs to adopt modern beekeeping techniques. Officials believe that increasing honey production will not only strengthen the rural economy but also improve employment opportunities in allied agricultural sectors.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote natural farming, support horticulture development, and create better market opportunities for honey producers across Haryana.
