Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday praised the Government of West Bengal for implementing rules intended to speed up the deployment of telecom infrastructure in the state.

In a post shared on social media platform X, Scindia thanked Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for aligning the state with the Centre’s telecom infrastructure framework.

The Union Minister described the move as an important step towards building a “prosperous and empowered” West Bengal through improved digital infrastructure and connectivity.

Scindia also alleged that the state had remained deprived of the benefits of several flagship central government initiatives for many years, which, according to him, affected the pace of telecom expansion and digital development in the region.

The implementation of telecom infrastructure rules is expected to facilitate faster installation of telecom towers, improve connectivity services, and support the expansion of digital communication networks, including high-speed internet and mobile coverage.

The Centre has been encouraging states to adopt uniform Right of Way and telecom infrastructure guidelines to reduce delays in approvals and promote rapid digital infrastructure growth across the country.
