Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday criticised the BJP government over the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination, raising concerns about the credibility and security of conducting the test again after allegations of a paper leak.

In a post shared on X, the Samajwadi Party leader questioned what assurance students and parents had that the examination paper would not be leaked once more if the test was re-conducted.

Yadav said the controversy had triggered widespread frustration and disappointment among lakhs of medical aspirants and their families across the country. He also accused the BJP government of failing to protect the integrity of one of India’s most important entrance examinations.

According to him, the cancellation has deepened public anger against what he described as a “corrupt system”, while students continue to face uncertainty regarding fresh examination dates, admit cards, and counselling schedules.

The NEET-UG 2026 cancellation has emerged as a major political issue, with opposition parties demanding accountability and stronger safeguards to prevent future examination irregularities.
