Vipin Sondhi has been elected to the supervisory board of Daimler Truck AG, becoming one of the few Indian business leaders to secure a senior board-level position at a major global automotive company.

According to information published on the company’s website, Sondhi was elected as a shareholder representative to the supervisory board following the conclusion of Daimler Truck’s 2026 annual general meeting held on May 6.

Along with Sondhi, Wayne Eyre, Claudia Nemat and Britta Seeger were also elected as new members of the supervisory board.

The company said the appointments would further strengthen the board’s collective expertise in critical areas such as global growth markets, digital transformation and industrial leadership.

Vipin Sondhi is widely recognised for his leadership in the commercial vehicle sector and previously served as Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland, one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.
