Arjun Singh Files 93-Page Election Affidavit in Bengal Polls

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Arjun Singh has disclosed 119 pending criminal cases in his latest election affidavit, a sharp rise from the 24 cases he had declared in 2019.

Singh, the former Member of Parliament from Barrackpore, submitted a 93-page affidavit along with his nomination papers for the West Bengal Assembly elections.

The affidavit contains details related to his income, assets, liabilities, and pending legal cases, as required under election disclosure norms.

According to the filing, his annual income has shown fluctuations over the past five years.

Election affidavits are mandatory documents that provide voters with financial and legal background information of contesting candidates.

The disclosures have drawn attention amid the high-profile electoral contest in West Bengal.
