Massive Explosion and Ambush Rock Northwest Pakistan
Massive blast and ambush in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district leave several injured and buildings destroyed
At least 15 security personnel were killed and several others injured in a suicide attack and ambush targeting a police post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police officials said.
The attack occurred in Bannu, a region that has frequently witnessed militant violence and security operations in recent years.
According to police, security personnel stationed at the post opened fire on an explosive-laden vehicle approaching the checkpoint. Moments later, a powerful explosion ripped through the area, triggering widespread destruction.

The force of the blast reportedly caused the roofs of several nearby houses to collapse, while the police post itself was completely destroyed. Multiple security personnel were trapped under the debris after the structure was reduced to rubble.
Rescue teams and additional security forces were rushed to the scene to conduct search-and-recovery operations and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
Officials said the attack was followed by an ambush, intensifying the violence at the site. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and determine the group responsible for the assault.
The incident highlights the continuing security challenges in Pakistan’s northwestern regions, where militant attacks targeting police and security forces have remained a serious concern.
