India and Jamaica explore cooperation in education, health, trade, and digital sectors

S Jaishankar held detailed discussions with his Jamaican counterpart Kamina Johnson Smith and other Cabinet ministers, reviewing multiple aspects of the bilateral partnership.

During the meeting, both sides explored ways to strengthen cooperation in key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, digital tourism, sports, entertainment, infrastructure, and capacity building. They also discussed collaboration on regional and multilateral issues.

Jaishankar later interacted with industry and business leaders in Kingston, highlighting the growing importance of deepening economic ties as countries diversify their partnerships globally.

He emphasized that India and Jamaica have significant untapped potential for economic cooperation, both bilaterally and at a regional level.

The discussions reflect India’s broader effort to expand engagement with Caribbean nations and strengthen South-South cooperation.
