As India grapples with rising global oil prices, increasing energy import costs, and a weakening rupee, Monaco-based FOWE Eco Solutions has proposed a fuel-saving technology that it claims could significantly improve industrial fuel efficiency.

The company’s patented Cavitech fuel emulsion technology reportedly uses water-based fuel emulsification to reduce fuel consumption by up to 10 per cent while also lowering harmful emissions and improving equipment performance.

According to the company, the technology can be implemented without requiring major modifications to industrial engines or plant shutdowns, making it potentially attractive for sectors dependent on heavy fuel usage.

The development comes at a time when India imports nearly 88 per cent of its crude oil requirements and faces mounting pressure from elevated global energy prices.

State-run oil marketing companies have reportedly been incurring substantial losses while attempting to shield consumers from international fuel price volatility. The issue has also drawn attention at the national level, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging industries and citizens to conserve fuel and reduce energy consumption.

The company claims that apart from fuel savings, the technology can help industries reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental compliance, aligning with global sustainability goals.

Industry experts note that fuel efficiency technologies are gaining importance worldwide as governments and industries seek ways to manage rising energy costs, reduce import dependence, and meet climate commitments.

However, experts also emphasise that widespread adoption of such technologies would depend on large-scale industrial validation, long-term operational performance, regulatory approvals, and cost-effectiveness under Indian conditions.

The proposal highlights the growing interest in alternative efficiency solutions as India works toward strengthening energy security and reducing the economic impact of global oil market fluctuations.
