The Bihar cabinet headed by Samrat Choudhary will be expanded on Friday in a major political event scheduled at Gandhi Maidan.

State BJP president Sanjay Saraogi said the swearing-in ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J. P. Nadda and several senior leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

According to political sources, the cabinet expansion is being carried out broadly on the formula followed in the previous government, ensuring representation to alliance partners.

Around fifteen MLAs from the Bharatiya Janata Party and fourteen legislators from the Janata Dal (United) are expected to take oath as ministers.

Additionally, the proposed expansion may include two ministers from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and one minister each from the Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.

Most ministerial berths are likely to go to experienced leaders from the BJP and JD(U), though a few fresh faces may also find a place in the cabinet. Discussions are also reportedly underway regarding the possible inclusion of Nishant Kumar.
