Modi to Flag Off Two New Amrit Bharat Express Trains

Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh from Tuesday, during which he will inaugurate major development projects and participate in public events.

In the first leg of the visit, the Prime Minister will attend a Mahila Sammelan in Varanasi, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹6,000 crore.

He will also flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains — Banaras-Pune Amrit Bharat Express and Ayodhya-Mumbai Amrit Bharat Express.

On Wednesday, Modi will offer darshan and pooja at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

In the second leg of the visit, he will travel to Hardoi to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway.

The 594-km, six-lane (expandable to eight lanes) access-controlled greenfield corridor has been built at a cost of over ₹36,000 crore.

The expressway is expected to reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from 10–12 hours to around six hours.

A major feature of the project is a 3.5-km emergency landing facility (airstrip) in Shahjahanpur district.
