The Indian National Congress led the alliance with 63 seats, while its key ally Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) secured 22 seats. Other UDF partners, including Kerala Congress factions, contributed to the alliance’s dominant tally.

On the other side, the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) won 26 seats, while its ally Communist Party of India (CPI) secured 8 seats.
