Telangana Seeks Procurement of 30 LMT Parboiled Rice

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy met Union Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad Joshi to discuss procurement of food grains for the upcoming season.

During the meeting, the Telangana leaders requested the Union Minster to procure 30 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of parboiled rice for the 2025–26 Kharif and Rabi seasons. They also informed that the Rabi crop for 2025–26 is expected to yield around 90 LMT, highlighting the need for adequate procurement support to benefit farmers and ensure smooth distribution.
