Railway Officials Detach Affected Coach After Fire Incident

A fire was reported in the B-1 coach of the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in Rajasthan on Saturday. All passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries or casualties were reported.

A fire broke out in the B-1 coach of Train No. 12431, the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot on Saturday, according to officials of the West Central Railway, Kota Division.

Railway authorities said the fire was reported in the B-1 coach near the SLR end while the train was moving in the down direction.

All passengers travelling in the affected coach were safely deboarded immediately after the incident. Officials confirmed that no passenger or railway staff member was injured.

As a precautionary measure, the Overhead Equipment (OHE) power supply was cut off immediately to ensure safety during rescue and firefighting operations.

Railway staff detached the affected B-1 coach from the rest of the rake to prevent the spread of the fire. Senior railway officers and emergency teams rushed to the location and initiated firefighting operations.

Due to the incident, Train No. 12955 was temporarily halted at Mahidpur Road.

Officials said the railway section is expected to be cleared shortly after completion of firefighting and safety checks.

The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation by railway authorities.
