President Droupadi Murmu Visits ARTRAC Headquarters in Shimla

Droupadi Murmu, President of India and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla on Friday.

She was received by Kavinder Gupta and Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma upon her arrival.

During the visit, the President was briefed on the evolution and critical role of ARTRAC in providing high-quality training to Indian Army personnel, aimed at enhancing operational readiness and efficiency.

Officials highlighted several forward-looking initiatives undertaken by ARTRAC, including expanded drone training programs, integration of niche and emerging technologies, and the introduction of the ‘Red Teaming’ concept to improve strategic preparedness.

The briefing also covered ongoing efforts towards digitisation and automation within the Indian Army, reflecting a broader push to modernise training frameworks and adapt to evolving warfare requirements.

The visit underscores the government’s focus on strengthening defence capabilities through innovation, advanced training, and technology adoption, as stated by the Ministry of Defence.
