Modern Postal Infrastructure Reflects New Work Culture, Says Minister
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said modernised post offices are helping transform India’s postal services through technology-driven infrastructure and citizen-focused services.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday said modern post offices represent the evolving work culture of the Department of Posts, where technology, efficiency, transparency and public convenience are being given top priority.
Scindia made the remarks while inaugurating the renovated “Future-Ready” Andheri Railway Station Post Office in Mumbai.
Highlighting the transformation underway in India’s postal system, the minister said expanded services, advanced digital facilities and improved customer experience are helping align postal operations with the demands of a modern and digitally connected society.

He noted that the upgraded post offices are designed to provide seamless and citizen-centric services while enhancing operational efficiency and transparency.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the government to modernise postal infrastructure and integrate digital technologies into public service delivery systems.

The Department of Posts has been increasingly focusing on technology-enabled services, digital payments, logistics support and customer convenience as it adapts to changing communication and commerce patterns.
Officials said the “Future-Ready” post office model aims to create modern service centres capable of supporting financial inclusion, e-commerce logistics and digital governance initiatives across urban and rural India.
