Gusty Winds and Light Rain Likely in Jammu and Kashmir on Several Days

The Meteorological Department Jammu and Kashmir has forecast intermittent spells of light rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir till the end of April.

According to the department, no major weather disturbance is expected during this period, except for brief spells of rain and thunderstorms today, on April 25, and again on April 28.

Today’s weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, with chances of brief light rain, thunder, and gusty winds at isolated places during the late afternoon. On April 25, conditions are expected to be partly to generally cloudy, with one or two short spells of light rain or thundershowers at scattered to many places. Gusty winds may also occur at a few locations during afternoon and evening hours.

The weather is expected to remain largely dry on April 26 and 27, although isolated light rain may occur during the afternoon. On April 28, generally cloudy skies are likely with light rain or thunder at a few places.

Similar weather is expected on April 29 and 30, with brief spells of light rain at isolated locations, mainly during late afternoon hours. For May 1 and 2, the department has forecast generally cloudy skies with brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at a few places later in the day.

Farmers have been advised to suspend farm activities today and on April 25 in view of the expected weather conditions. Authorities have also cautioned people about possible gusty winds during afternoon and evening hours on some days.
