Indian Railways to Run Over 18,000 Summer Special Trips Till July 15

Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday reviewed the operation of additional trains being run during the summer season in New Delhi.

According to the Ministry of Railways, Indian Railways is planning to operate more than 18,000 summer special train trips to improve connectivity and ease passenger congestion till July 15.

Officials said over 11,000 train trips have already been notified as part of the large-scale summer travel plan. The ministry stated that the move reflects a calibrated strategy backed by improved rake availability, optimized scheduling, and continuous operational monitoring.

Special efforts are also being made to ensure smooth passenger movement at key railway hubs such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.

The ministry said these targeted interventions are aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring smooth, safe, and hassle-free journeys for passengers during the peak summer rush.
