The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday announced that the second edition of WAVES Doc Bazaar will be organised next month to support documentary, animation and short filmmakers through networking, mentorship and market opportunities.

The event will take place from June 16 to 18 alongside the Mumbai International Film Festival at the NFDC Complex.

According to the ministry, the initiative aims to create a collaborative platform where emerging creators and established professionals from the audiovisual industry can connect, exchange ideas and explore business opportunities.

WAVES Doc Bazaar is expected to provide filmmakers with access to industry experts, production houses, distributors and commissioning platforms, helping independent creators strengthen the reach and visibility of their projects.

Officials said the programme will focus on encouraging creative storytelling and supporting content creators working in documentaries, animation and short-format cinema, sectors that are increasingly gaining global recognition.

The event is also expected to facilitate mentorship sessions, project pitching opportunities and discussions on evolving trends in the audiovisual ecosystem.
