Actor and comedian Quinta Brunson is set to develop and star in a new film centred on the legendary animated character Betty Boop. The project is being developed in collaboration with Fleischer Studios and producers connected to the iconic cartoon franchise.
Actor, comedian, and writer Quinta Brunson is developing a feature film based on the iconic animated character Betty Boop, one of the most recognisable figures in animation history.
According to entertainment industry reports, Brunson’s production company, Fifth Chance Productions, has partnered with Mark Fleischer and Fleischer Studios for the project, which is currently in development. The film is also being overseen by Fifth Chance Productions’ head of creative affairs, Erin Wehrenberg.

Brunson described Betty Boop as a character with a subtle yet lasting influence on popular culture. In a statement, she said the cartoon icon remains one of America’s most beloved animated characters while still maintaining a unique niche appeal.
Created by legendary animator Max Fleischer in the 1930s, Betty Boop became a cultural phenomenon known for her distinctive appearance, flapper style, and groundbreaking role in early animation history. The character has remained a symbol of vintage pop culture and animation artistry for decades.
The new project is expected to introduce Betty Boop to a contemporary audience while preserving the charm and cultural legacy that made the character internationally famous.
