Vijay’s Tamizhaka Vetri Kazhagam – BJP Alliance

The field for the 2026 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu has already started heating up. In particular, the question of who the ‘Tamizhaka Vetri Kazhagam’ started by actor Vijay will form an alliance with has become a huge debate in political circles. In this context, the answer given by AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami to the question about the alliance is going viral.

There are reports circulating on social media and in some media outlets that the TVK Party is likely to join the National Democratic Alliance. Vijay’s political moves and the stances he has taken on certain issues have raised doubts among political commentators as to whether he is leaning towards the BJP.

Edappadi Palaniswami, who met reporters at his residence on Greenways Road in Chennai, was asked, “Is it being said that Vijay’s TVK Party is going to join the NDA alliance?” To this, he said, “It is the individual right and policy decision of each party to decide which alliance to join. Others cannot interfere in it. Until there is an official announcement about the alliance, I cannot respond to mere speculation. Vijay has not yet revealed the complete policies of his party in the election.”

“The AIADMK is currently focusing on forming a strong alliance. We will face the elections on issues that affect the people, such as price hikes and law and order.” On the other hand, EX-BJP state president Annamalai, speaking on this, made a general comment that “anyone who wants to provide a corruption-free government in Tamil Nadu can join us.” However, no official announcement has been made about the alliance from Vijay’s TVK side so far.

With the DMK alliance on one side and the AIADMK alliance on the other, the 2026 election field is going to depend on who the Vijay-led TVK will join or contest alone. The intelligence agencies and other political parties are closely monitoring Vijay’s every move.
