Trading activities at India’s leading stock exchanges, the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange, remained closed on Friday on the occasion of Bakrid, also known as Eid ul-Adha.

While Indian financial markets observed a holiday, several major Asian markets traded lower amid cautious investor sentiment linked to global economic uncertainty, interest rate expectations, and geopolitical developments.

Market participants across Asia remained focused on economic indicators, inflation trends, and central bank policy signals, which continued to influence investor confidence in regional equities.

In contrast, the US stock market ended the previous trading session on a positive note. Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ Composite, and S&P 500 closed higher, supported by gains in technology and financial stocks.

Analysts noted that optimism in the US market was driven by expectations surrounding economic resilience and easing concerns over near-term recession risks.

Indian investors are expected to closely monitor global market trends, commodity price movements, and foreign institutional investor activity when domestic trading resumes after the holiday.
