Andy Serkis-Directed LOTR Movie Expands Star Cast
Actor Leo Woodall says joining The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is a dream come true, describing his casting in the iconic fantasy franchise as a “boyhood dream.”
Actor Leo Woodall has expressed excitement about joining The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, calling the opportunity a “boyhood dream.”
Woodall, widely recognised for his role in HBO’s acclaimed series The White Lotus, joined the cast of the upcoming film in April. He will portray Halvard, a Ranger of the North and hunting companion to Aragorn in the movie.
The film is directed by Andy Serkis, who is also reprising his iconic role as Gollum. The cast additionally includes franchise veterans Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood.
Speaking to People magazine, Woodall said, “It means everything. It’s a boyhood dream for me.” He added that he grew up watching the original The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and has seen the films “a million times.”
The upcoming movie is expected to further expand the cinematic universe based on the works of J. R. R. Tolkien and has generated strong anticipation among fans of the fantasy franchise worldwide.
