Hema Malini Receives Padma Vibhushan on Behalf of Dharmendra

Actor Esha Deol expressed pride and emotion after legendary Bollywood star Dharmendra was posthumously conferred the prestigious Padma Vibhushan for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema and the arts.

The honour was presented during the Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday. The award was accepted on Dharmendra’s behalf by his wife, veteran actor and politician Hema Malini, accompanied by their daughter Ahana Deol.

Esha Deol later shared a series of pictures and videos from the ceremony on her Instagram story, describing the occasion as a “moment of pride and emotion.”

Dharmendra remains one of the most celebrated actors in Indian cinema history, known for iconic performances across several decades in Hindi films. His contribution to Indian entertainment and popular culture has earned him enduring admiration from audiences across generations.

The Padma Vibhushan is India’s second-highest civilian honour and recognises exceptional and distinguished service in various fields, including arts, public affairs, literature, science and sports.
