IMD Issues Orange Alert as Heavy Rainfall Expected Across Several States
The India Meteorological Department has warned of very heavy rainfall in several regions, while thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected across parts of southern and eastern India.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for very heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh and Western Uttar Pradesh today.
The weather department has also forecast heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and parts of Northeast India till tomorrow.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely over Karnataka, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe and Tamil Nadu during the day. Similar weather conditions are expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Karaikal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands till tomorrow.


Meanwhile, rainfall continued in several parts of Delhi, providing relief from the heat. Many areas of the national capital have received rain since last night, with cloudy skies and pleasant weather prevailing across the city.
The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to remain between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
