Heavy rain inundates parts of Bhubaneswar
Heavy overnight rain inundated several low-lying areas of Bhubaneswar on Thursday, with water entering houses and slums.
The city received around 100 mm of rainfall between 11 pm on Wednesday and early Thursday morning. Madhusudan Nagar recorded the highest rainfall at 107 mm, followed by Nayapalli at 97.2 mm, officials said.
The downpour triggered waterlogging in several low-lying localities, including GGP Colony, Laxmisagar and Saheed Nagar. Shantipalli Basti in the Saheed Nagar area was among the worst affected, with knee-deep water entering houses.
