Military Ties Deepen as India, Uzbekistan Complete Joint Exercise

Exercise DUSTLIK 2026, the 7th edition of the India-Uzbekistan joint military exercise, concluded successfully at the Gurumsaray Field Training Area after two weeks of intensive training held from April 12 to 25, 2026.

Conducted in Namangan, the exercise was designed to enhance interoperability and joint operational capability in semi-mountainous terrain.

Training activities progressed from tactical drills and special arms exercises to the final validation of integrated joint missions.

In the concluding phase, six operational modules were rehearsed in detail, with troops organised into specialised groups such as reconnaissance, airborne, surveillance, helicopter firing, house intervention, and reserve units comprising engineer and medical detachments.

A Joint Operational Command and Control Centre was established to provide a unified structure for mission planning and execution.

The exercise also featured tactical drone surveillance, field improvisation of drills, repeated rehearsals, and final validation exercises to ensure smooth coordination and operational readiness.

The closing ceremony included felicitation of distinguished guests and outstanding performers from both contingents, followed by a Commanders’ Dinner symbolising camaraderie, mutual trust, and growing defence cooperation between India and Uzbekistan.
