Dehradun: Personnel of the Indian Army are carrying out snow-clearing operations on a war footing to reopen the route for the annual Shri Hemkund Sahib Yatra.

Officials said the efforts are aimed at ensuring that the pilgrimage remains smooth, safe, and well-organised for devotees.

Despite difficult mountainous terrain and adverse weather conditions, Army personnel are continuously working to make the route accessible before the yatra begins.

The snow clearance operation is considered crucial as heavy snowfall often blocks trekking paths leading to the shrine.

Hemkund Sahib, located in the Himalayas, attracts thousands of pilgrims every year.

Authorities said the coordinated efforts are focused on ensuring that devotees do not face inconvenience during the pilgrimage season.
