India Announce Young-Looking Test Squad Against Afghanistan

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled India’s squad for the upcoming Test series against the Afghanistan national cricket team, with Shubman Gill set to captain the side in the longest format.
Senior batter KL Rahul has been named vice-captain, adding experience to the leadership group alongside Gill.
The batting lineup includes promising opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, stylish left-hander Sai Sudharsan and middle-order batter Devdutt Padikkal.
Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant returns to the Test setup, while Dhruv Jurel has been included as the additional wicketkeeping option.
India’s all-round department features Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar, both capable of contributing with both bat and ball.
The bowling attack will be led by experienced pacer Mohammed Siraj along with Prasidh Krishna. Spin duties will be handled by Kuldeep Yadav and young spinner Manav Suthar.
Emerging talents such as Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey have also been included in the squad, indicating the selectors’ focus on building depth in the Test team.
