Ashwin Hails MS Dhoni’s Wicketkeeping as ‘Unmatched’
Veteran spinner praises Dhoni’s glovework and clarity behind the stumps
Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has described MS Dhoni’s wicketkeeping as the finest he has ever experienced, particularly while bowling to spinners.
Reflecting on their long association in the Indian team and with Chennai Super Kings, Ashwin said Dhoni’s exceptional glovework and game awareness set him apart from others.
“His glovework has always amazed me. I haven’t seen anyone else operate like him behind the stumps,” Ashwin said during an interaction on JioStar’s The Ravichandran Ashwin Experience.
While Dhoni is widely celebrated for his leadership and multiple title wins, Ashwin emphasised that his skills as a wicketkeeper—especially his ability to guide bowlers and anticipate plays—are equally remarkable.
