UDF Will Accept High Command’s Verdict, Says Chennithala
Senior leader says party workers and UDF allies will stand by final leadership decision
Senior Ramesh Chennithala on Monday said that whatever decision the Congress high command takes regarding the chief ministerial post in Kerala would be accepted by all party workers and members of the United Democratic Front.
Speaking to reporters after returning from New Delhi, Chennithala said the state leadership had already communicated its views and concerns to the party leadership at the national level.
“We have conveyed whatever we had to say to the high command. They have heard everything. The rest is for them to decide,” he said.
Chennithala also described the delay in announcing the final decision as part of a democratic process within the party, indicating that consultations and discussions were still ongoing.
The remarks come amid intense political discussions within the Indian National Congress over leadership choices and government formation in Kerala.
Political observers believe the statement was aimed at projecting unity within the Congress and the UDF alliance during a crucial phase of decision-making.
The Congress leadership is expected to finalise its position after consultations with senior leaders and alliance partners, while party supporters continue to await clarity on the chief ministerial candidate.
