TMC Claims Bengal Still Strongly Behind Mamata Banerjee
Firhad Hakim on Monday said the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls could boomerang on the Bharatiya Janata Party in the West Bengal Assembly elections.
The senior All India Trinamool Congress leader asserted that the people of the state remain firmly behind Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Speaking during the campaign period, Hakim said the BJP’s high-profile campaign led by central leaders had created more hype around this election compared with previous years.
However, he maintained that the ground situation in Bengal remained unchanged.
Hakim also claimed that the state BJP lacks an independent political footing in West Bengal and depends heavily on visits by national leaders.
His remarks come amid intensified campaigning and sharp exchanges between major political parties ahead of the final phase of polling.
