Taiwan Tracks 29 Chinese Aircraft, Multiple Naval Vessels
Multiple PLA sorties cross median line; Taiwan tracks air-sea drills in ADIZ
Taiwan reported heightened military activity by People’s Liberation Army (PLA), with 29 aircraft, 6 naval vessels, and 2 official ships detected operating around the island as of 6 a.m. local time.
According to Taiwan authorities, 15 of the detected aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s northern, central, and southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
The aircraft involved included various types such as J-10, J-16 fighter jets and KJ-500 early warning aircraft, indicating coordinated air-sea joint training exercises alongside People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels.
Taiwan’s armed forces confirmed that they closely monitored the situation and responded accordingly, deploying appropriate defensive measures.
The latest activity underscores ongoing tensions in the region, with frequent incursions and military drills near Taiwan raising concerns over stability in the Indo-Pacific.
