West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a sharp political attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging misuse of central agencies and irregularities in voter lists ahead of upcoming elections.

Addressing a public gathering in Dum Dum, Banerjee claimed names of voters were removed from electoral rolls due to errors in records, changes in addresses, and incorrect spellings. She also accused agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate, Central Bureau of Investigation, and Income Tax Department of being used to target opposition leaders and citizens.

She further criticised the reported move to bring the delimitation bill together with the women’s reservation bill, saying her party supports women’s reservation but opposes linking it with delimitation. Banerjee highlighted that West Bengal already has 50 per cent reservation for women in municipalities and panchayats, and a strong representation of women in elected offices.
