Veteran Karnataka politician D Sudhakar passed away in the early hours of Sunday after battling a prolonged illness. He was 66.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Sudhakar breathed his last at 3.15 am at the hospital’s Electronic City facility in Bengaluru. He had been receiving treatment for a severe lung infection for nearly two months.
Doctors monitoring his condition stated that despite intensive medical care, the minister’s health continued to deteriorate in recent weeks. His demise has shocked Karnataka’s political circles, with leaders across party lines expressing grief over the loss of the senior statesman.
D Sudhakar was serving as Karnataka’s Planning and Statistics Minister and was known for his administrative experience and active role in state governance. Over the years, he earned recognition for his involvement in developmental initiatives and policy planning.
