Hooghly: District Magistrate Khurshid Ali Qadri said authorities are fully focused on election preparedness ahead of polling in the district.

He stated that tomorrow is the last day of campaigning, after which the mandatory silence period will begin from 6 PM as per guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Qadri said officials will ensure strict enforcement of rules during the silence period, including preventing unauthorised persons from remaining in the constituency.

He added that administrative teams will monitor movement and implement all required norms to maintain a free and fair atmosphere before voting.

The District Magistrate also emphasised that polling day regulations, including the 100-metre protocol around polling stations, would be strictly followed.
