Final Phase Voting to Cover Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and More
Campaigning for the second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections will conclude on Monday evening ahead of polling scheduled for April 29.
A total of 142 constituencies will vote in this phase, covering eight electoral districts — Kolkata North, Kolkata South, Howrah, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Hooghly and Purba Bardhaman.
Leaders of all major parties are holding rallies and roadshows in a final push to reach voters.
Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting at Jilepi Math in Jagatdal.
Amit Shah will hold two roadshows — one from Behala Thana to Manton, and another at Chandannagar Bagbazar.
Mamata Banerjee has multiple programmes scheduled, including a public outreach march from Sukanta Setu in support of candidates from Jadavpur Assembly constituency and Tollygunge Assembly constituency.
Later, she will hold another outreach programme in her constituency, Bhabanipur Assembly constituency.
Abhishek Banerjee is set to campaign in Ranaghat, Hooghly, Arambagh and Maheshtala.
The first phase of polling in West Bengal recorded a voter turnout of 93.19 per cent on April 23.
Counting for Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be held on May 4.
