Voting for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election began at 7 AM on Thursday amid tight security arrangements, with voters lining up early at polling stations across the state.
The main contest is between the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the principal opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). Meanwhile, actor-politician Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and Tamil nationalist Seeman-led Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) are also mounting a determined challenge.
