Chandrababu Naidu Welcomes Approval of Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam Rail Line Project
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has thanked the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the Rajahmundry (Nidadavolu) – Visakhapatnam (Duvvada) 3rd and 4th railway line projects.
Naidu said the project includes a 4.3-kilometre rail bridge over the Godavari River and will help reduce congestion while cutting travel time.
He added that the new lines will strengthen regional connectivity, improve passenger convenience, and boost freight movement. The Chief Minister also said the project would improve access to spiritual destinations such as Annavaram, Antarvedi, and Draksharamam.
According to Naidu, the railway expansion will also support industrial growth and port-led development, calling it a step toward achieving “Swarna Andhra” and a “Viksit Bharat.”
