Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday announced that four ministers, including representatives from BJP allies, will take oath alongside him in the new NDA government in Assam on May 12.

In a post on social media platform X, Sarma confirmed that Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro, and Ajanta Neog would be sworn in as ministers.

The inclusion of leaders from the Asom Gana Parishad and the Bodoland People’s Front reflects the NDA alliance’s effort to maintain coalition representation in the new government.

Sarma also announced that former minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass would be the alliance’s candidate for the Speaker’s post in the Assam Legislative Assembly.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place in the presence of Narendra Modi and other senior leaders of the National Democratic Alliance.

The formation of the new government marks the continuation of the NDA alliance’s rule in Assam, with cabinet positions distributed among BJP leaders and coalition partners.

Political observers believe the cabinet composition reflects a balance between regional representation, alliance management, and administrative experience.
